Rooting Xperia Neo L is somewhat similar as for other Xperia ICS devices. Xperia Neo L has got ICS which can be rooted using Flashtool and Neo V kernel. You can root Xperia Neo L easily by following this guide.
You will need the latest version of flashtool,Doomlord xperia2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su installer, you can get it here, and Neo V(MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel) Kernel which can be found here and Neo L’s latest kernel(MT25i_4.1.B.0.626_KERNEL) which can be downloaded here.
Unzip everything you just downloaded in a separate folder for better accessing. And before doing everything, I would like to make you sure that this removes your phone’s warranted if you don’t follow the guide properly, you may also brick your phone. So, let’s start to root Xperia Neo L ICS device.
Steps to Root Xperia Neo L
Install the Flashtool on your Windows, and make sure to disable your Antivirus App while installing the Flashtool. Don’t worry, its not virus or something, let it like a formality.
Now, do these 3 steps, first go to Settings > Developer Options and enable USB Debugging. Second, Settings > Security and Turn on Unknown Sources and the third step is, go to Settings > Xperia > Connectivity > USB Connection Mode and select from the options “MSC Mode”. Now, Power Off your Device.
Now, flash the Neo V kernel (MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_kernel.ftf) on your Neo V using flashtool. Your phone will get a vibration, but the screen would not turn on.Now try to turn on your phone, and if doesn’t turn on, remove the USB Cable and then try to turn on again.
Then Open runme.bat in DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su. Now, your device is rooted.
And the last step is, flash the Neo L latest kernel(MT25i_4.1.B.0.626_KERNEL.ftf) again using flashtool and you are done. Now turn on your device and you will see SU application in the homescreen of your phone.
